The food in the fridge is starting to spoil for thousands of locals still without power following yesterday's storms.
The unexpectedly severe activity saw 20,000 lightning strikes take out the electricity to nearly 10,000 properties across the South East when the storms rolled through around midday on Wednesday.
Energex crews sprang into action and managed to get the lights back on to most properties within hours.
Pimpama was hit particularly hard with more than 2,700 properties still without power at 9pm.
The grid was later restored there, but other regions haven't been so lucky.
At 9am on Thursday there were still 752 homes without power across the Gold Coast City Council region, most of those in Clagiraba, Mt Nathan, Guanaba.
While in the hinterland, more than three thousand homes are in the dark at Mount Tamborine, after a trampoline flew into powerlines.
